Andrei Kolesnikov

Andrei Kolesnikov is a Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Senior Associate Research Fellow at Italian Institute for International Political Studies, and member of the Yegor Gaidar Foundation’s board. His research focuses on the trends shaping Russian politics, with particular focus on ideological shifts inside society. He worked in leading Russian media, was deputy editor of Novaya Gazeta. Kolesnikov is a frequent contributor to media, including Foreign Affairs, CNN Opinion, etc., and the author of several books, including political biography of the Russian liberal reformer Yegor Gaidar.
